Using projection paint to bring light to dark.

Projecting on to black can be very interesting. Many people may tell you that it will not work.

But it does and can look amazing.

There are different ways.

Normal black wall paint – the image will appear, but flat in colour.

Artistic paint (see below left) – light gets absorbed. Only outlines appear.

Black rear projection foil – A very intense contrasty image will appear with deep colours.

Black (Charcoal) projection paint (see image on the right – high contrast with bright light elements due to reflectors in the paint.

All this with use of normal brightness projectors, but in darkened and normal lit environments. The unfocussed ambient light gets absorbed.

Screen Noir – A very low gain material which gives a natural image using high brightness projectors.
