Fujifilm ZHU6000 – 4K

The popular Z6000 projector has been upgraded to 4K standard. This allows this projector to be used in a much wider application field, not only in commercial, but also in home theater applications. By the way, for applications which require a very high brightness level, the ZUH12,000 with interchangeable lenses and 12000 lumen brightness will join the range later in 2026.

So why Fujifilm and not any one of the new range of ultra-wide hometheater projectors or any of the UST, commercial range projectors available from other manufacturer?

Lets have a look at the parent behind the Z-series projectors. Fujifilm has an extensive experience in image processing, digital image technology and photography, goind well back into the analog era.

On the other hand, Fujifilm hardware and optics are known for highest quality and reliability. Fujinon broadcast lenses are used for television transmission, right up to 8K, and Fujifilm cameras are known for ruggedness and reliability. We don’t even need to talk here about binoculars for defence applications and optics for microscopes and other scientific environment.

All this knowledge got merged into the Fijifilm Z-series of projectors. A projector is even more than just a device which will convert a HDMI or SDI data stream onto an image on the wall. The input stage, data processing and lights as well optical system combined are the key for optimal image quality on the screen. About the screen we will talk separately.

The Fujifilm Z-series can project up to 6m wide from just a 2.4m distance. This allows the wall of a normal, modern apartment to be filled from the dining table. Far beyond of what most home theatre projectors can do. At 6000 lumens light output, the image brightness is sufficient, even if ambient light is turned on and non of the special, expensive projection screens need to be used.

The optical system of the Z-series further has extensive adjustments on form of shift v+h and image correction to straighten the picture, even if the projector is not placed perfectly perpendicular to the screen.

On a slight, tongue-in-cheek note, the Z-series projector is leight enough to be handcarried, but heavy enough of being just sneaked out by someone with a dishonest mind.

Back to commercial. The Z-series projector is ideal for galleries, museum, boardrooms, training facilities, defence war-rooms and even ships since it can be set-up close to the wall and still provides a large image. It can be placed on the floor and the image can be shifted up to viewing level. No drilling or expensive mounting required.

The projector has HDMI, SDI and HDbaseT signal input and can accept media feed from nearby devices as well as from media control centers, a long distance away.

How much? A projector this caliber should cost a lot of money, right? Actually if you compare the projector is mid-priced. Yes there are cheaper UST projectors, but most only have smaller max image sizes and there are projectors where the interchangeable lens alone cost as much as a complete Z-series. Some home theater projectors with just half the light output cost much more than the ZUH6000.
